The Library of the Departments of Archaeology and History of Art, the largest of its kind in Northern Greece, was founded in 1926. It is housed on the third floor of the New Building of the Philosophy Faculty (301) and has a collection of approximately 42,000 volumes and 300 titles of scientific periodicals, 170 of which are active print journals. The number of books increases annually by about 1,000 titles. 

The Library is used by the teaching staff and the students of the School of History and Archaeology, as well as the archaeologists of the Ministry of Culture and other researchers.
