Glyn Prysor

Dr Glyn Prysor is Chief Historian at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. After completing his PhD at the University of Oxford, he taught modern history at the Universities of Oxford and Sussex, specialising in the history of the world wars. Glyn joined the CWGC in late 2013 and contributes to a range of research, communication and interpretation projects across the organisation, including collaborating with governments on national and international events to mark the centenary of the First World War. His book Citizen Sailors: The Royal Navy in the Second World War was published by Penguin Books, and his most recent work has focused on the history of commemoration and commemorative spaces. A frequent media spokesperson for the Commission, he is also an Honorary Fellow of the University of Kent.
