Sotiris Rizas

Sotiris Rizas was born in Athens in 1964. He is the Director of Research at the Research Centre for the Study of Modern Greek History at the Academy of Athens. He received his Doctorate from the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in 1992. He has taught at a postgraduate level at the National School of Public Administration regarding the European Political System and European Union and EU Policies 2008-2010. He also taught on the Greek Dictatorship 1967-1974 at the joint postgraduate seminar of the departments of History-Archaeology, Political Science-Public Administration (University of Athens) Political Science-History (Panteion University). Furthermore he taught Hellenic History at the Hellenic Open University. He was also a Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Fellow in Research, Hellenic Studies Program of Princeton University during 2004-2005 and a Visiting Research Associate, Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, King's College/University of London during 1994-1995.
